Stoke Bliss Ploughing & Homecrafts

Stoke Bliss & District Agricultural Improvement Society

The Society was founded by local farmers in 1947 who organised a Ploughing Match and a range of agricultural competitions.

These are now held annually at different farms each year. The competition includes

ploughing, best cereal crops, cookery, homecrafts, handicrafts, produce and childrens' section.

Over the years, we have received many requests to have demonstrations of craft items being produced, and stalls from which visitors can purchase items. This area continues

to evolve. Our main criterion is that we use local producers or suppliers for our stalls, which gives

visitors a chance to BUY LOCAL. In the past, we have had ornamental blacksmiths, cake decorating,

corn-dolly making and card-making. Stalls have included Jewellery, Clothing, Pictures, Jams and

Chutneys and Fruit juices

Various social events are held to fundraise for the event.
